Nice to meet you!
I'm Emily Chang, a new graduate of Dartmouth College where I studied Human-Centered Design and Anthropology.
Over the past 3 years, I have designed across AI-powered healthtech, educational tools, and enterprise workflows. These projects have strengthened my systems thinking and reinforced my commitment to creating solutions that genuinely support and connect the people who use them.
My design philosophy:
Lead by listening
I center collaboration by actively listening and uplifting others’ ideas, creating a safe space for constructive, encouraging critique.
Accessibility drives impact
I weave accessibility into each step of the design process, ensuring user needs align with organizational priorities to create meaningful impact.
Just keep iterating!
I like using artificial intelligence tools to spark a wide range of ideas, then I keep refining them with human insight, research, and thoughtful testing.

日日精進
(rì rì jīngjìn)
A Buddhist Chinese phrase about the importance of continuous improvement that I think applies well to iterative design.

Music
Music is my favorite creative outlet: it grounds me, connects me with others, and shapes me into a thoughtful listener. Performing and creating in solo and group settings helps me stay curious, experiment boldly, and collaborate with care - skills that sharpen my approach to design.

Running
I run to unwind and connect with my surroundings. Running for causes I care about gives each mile purpose. I strive for consistency and pace myself through challenges while uplifting my team, habits I also embody in my design process.

Food
I love trying new dishes, especially street food, and recreating these flavors at home. Diving deep into the origins of a dish has shaped my curiosity and appreciation for context, a mindset that helps me uncover user needs within the environments they navigate.
